PENSACAN
Join us as we partner with Manna for PensaCAN 2024! The event is hosted by Cordova Mall - A Simon Mall. PensaCAN is a competition where teams create impressive structures made entirely out of full cans of food. Following a week-long display of the structures (and posters with images of digital designs) and voting, all food is then donated to Manna for distribution to our neighbors in need in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. Food structures will be built at Cordova Mall in the common area between Dillard’s and Ross on Thursday, October 3, and will be on display through Friday, October 11. A panel of judges will vote on the structures on Friday, October 4, in categories such as Best Meal Award, Best Use of Labels Award, and Structural Ingenuity Award. You can get involved too! People’s Choice Award votes will be accepted online at www.mannahelps.org October 4-11! Come out to Cordova Mall and support our local architects and build teams in the fight against hunger! When to Use Storefront or Curtain Wall This presentation focuses on the characteristics that distinguish between Curtain Wall & Storefront systems. This describes how each system is assembled, how they handle water, thermal characteristics and structural differences. The goal is to give you a good understanding of the differences between these systems and the appropriate application of each. You will have a clear understanding of why a storefront should not be used where a curtain wall is needed and be able to explain this to others.1 HSW/LU

Small Firm Collaborative – A Lunch Event Small firms represent a significant portion of the Panhandle's architectural landscape. However, the diverse roles that small firm owners and employees often take on can lead to their interests being overlooked and their contributions undervalued. This collaborative event aims to connect small firms to discuss their needs and create a supportive environment for social interaction and collaboration—an opportunity often taken for granted in larger firms. Our Goals:
Join us for this discussion to explore how we can strengthen our community and elevate our collective goals and interests. |
WINE & WELD
Blue Coral invites you to attend a presentation on Tig welding VS. Mig welding. During the presentation we will explain what Tig welding is, what Mig welding is, the difference in equipment, and why you would choose one over the other in any given situation. Shortly after the presentation we will allow attendees to participate in Tig welding. Each station will be manned by a trained Blue Coral Welder/Fabricator. The attendee will be presented with the proper safety equipment and briefly trained on how to weld a "bead." Proceeding the training the attendee will do their best to weld a straight "bead." At the end of this, the welders/fabricators will vote on the beads, selecting the top three, each of which will receive a prize. The event includes wine tasting, live music, and a food truck on site. Attire: Closed-toed shoes; long hair to be pulled back during welding; safety equipment will be provided.
