AIA Extra: City of Pensacola Planning Services Dept Update

Cynthia Cannon, Gray Parker, and Gregg Harding from City of Pensacola will participate in a panel discussion to review Sea Level Rise and Social Equity, the CRA Urban Overlay District, and historic preservation within the City. This event will include presentations by all three members of City staff, followed by a question and answer period.

The presentation will also highlight goals from the City’s Climate Mitigation & Adaptation Task Force, as well as the findings of the recently completed Vulnerability Assessment:

  • Advance adaptation and mitigation strategies to enhance the City’s and regional resilience and preparedness for withstanding the likely adverse effects of climate change, including flooding resulting from heavy precipitation, rising sea levels, intense hurricanes, and other extreme weather events.
  • Promote a program of education, incentives, and public outreach to encourage residents, business owners, governments, and organizations to participate in the Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Plan.
