This course will consider today’s sealants and how they play a part in the building assembly. It will explain the different features and benefits as well as their specific contribution to a building’s strength, energy savings and protection.

Understanding Alternative Exterior Trim
Participants will compare and specify alternative exterior trim products, understand manufacturing, composition and performance of alternative (non-wood) trim products and compare green attributes.

Customizing Motorized Retractable Screens to Enhance Building Performance
Discover the various customization options of motorized retractable screens available in the industry and learn how the selected choices for integration deliver improved building performance and functionality. Participants will gain practical knowledge of design and planning considerations for motorized retractable screens that can help to create energy-efficient homes, maintain character of space and achieve sustainable design goals.

Folding Door Systems: Enhancing Interior and Exterior Open Spaces
This course will look at the different materials and types of folding door systems that can be designed to suit any residential or commercial application. This course will also look at how they support green design and sustainable green initiatives and are compliant with industry approvals and standards.

Handrail Code Requirements and Design Considerations
This course will provide the architect with the details of railing systems code requirements and testing to ensure they meet IRC and IBC building codes. Integrating design elements based on materials and span limits into the structure architecture.
